Bison deck pedestals are the perfect solutions for rooftop decks, and decks over concrete pads. These pedestals can either be used as adjustable decking joist supports, or to support 2' by 2' hardwood decking tiles.
Pedestal deck system with adjustable height and base slope to match the pitch of the surface they are being installed on. This allows a level deck to be built on a roof or surface that has been sloped for drainage. Their adjustable pedestals range from a height of 1-1/4" up to 24" including height extendors.
Bison fixed height pedestals are designed for lower clearance applications, and are stackable. They range from 1/4" to 3/4" tall, and can allow hardwood decking tiles to be installed on concrete pads.
Bison pedestals come with a variety of accessories to increase the versatility of their pedestals. Pictured here is a pedestal cap which allows dimensional lumber to be installed on top of a Bison deck pedestal to allow wood, composite, or PVC decking to be used. They also make column height extenders and additional base leveling kits.

When using deck tiles, like our Ipe tiles, a pedestal is required at each corner of every tile. On average, you can estimate the number of pedestals needed by multiplying the number of tiles you will use by 1.5. For accuracy, you should count the number of corners between deck tiles while planning out your project. Check out the link above to learn more about installation tips.
