IPE decking prices vary depending their sizes and lengths.
A shorter ipe wood board will cost less then a longer board, longer Ipe decking boards are more difficult to produce due to production and quality control; by removing parts of the Ipe wood with defects, it's more likely to produce more shorter then longer od IPE decking boards, so the availability for longer pieces is less then the shorter ones, which affects their prices. The smaller discarded pieces will be used for other applications as producing interior flooring, Ipe deck tiles, so there's no waste.
Ipe wood pricing also depends from its quality/grade and origin.
The Ipe wood decking that we carry is "Premium Grade", there's no better IPE grade out there! Premium Grade Ipe means the best selection, one face clear of knots as minimum, no splinters or other defects.
IPE wood origin: Ipe trees grows mainly in Central and South America, although we find the best quality in Brazil. Our IPE wood is Brazilian and is harvested from naturally sustainable forests only, our suppliers and partners must follow all rules and regulations set by IBAMA. The Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources.
The pre-grooved Ipe boards are mainly used for deck floors, the Ipe boards are already with grooved sides, for an installation by using hidden fasteners type Ipe Clip, to avoid visible surface screwing.
